Natural Chew Safety & Disclosure

Our promise

Chewsy Chews offers natural, single-ingredient chews and treats chosen with care. Because every dog is different, we ask every customer to read and follow these guidelines each time a chew is given.

Always supervise

Never leave your dog alone with a chew. Stay nearby the entire time your dog is chewing, and be ready to step in if needed.

Choose the right size

Pick a chew that is too large for your dog to swallow whole. Consider your dog’s size, age, and chewing style. Strong or aggressive chewers may need a larger or firmer option. Puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with dental issues may need softer options.

Know when to take it away

Remove the chew once it becomes small enough to swallow or has sharp or splintered edges. Throw away any small end pieces. Do not let your dog gulp large pieces.

Choking and blockage risk

Any chew or treat can carry a risk of choking, broken teeth, or a blockage in the stomach or intestines. Signs to watch for include gagging, vomiting, drooling, loss of appetite, constipation, or tiredness. If you notice any of these, contact your veterinarian right away.

Introduce new chews slowly

Start with short chewing sessions and watch how your dog reacts. Natural chews are rich, and too much at once may upset the stomach. Provide fresh water at all times.

Allergies and health conditions

Our chews are single-ingredient animal products. If your dog has food allergies, sensitivities, a special diet, or any health condition, check with your veterinarian before offering a new chew. Treats should make up no more than about 10% of your dog’s daily calories.

Natural variation

Because our products are natural, size, shape, color, smell, and texture will vary from piece to piece and batch to batch. This is normal and does not affect quality.

Handling and storage

Store chews in a cool, dry place and give them room to breathe. Leave the bag open, or keep them in a paper bag. Please do not store them sealed in plastic, as trapped moisture can spoil natural chews. Wash your hands after handling chews, as with any natural animal product. Keep out of reach of children. These products are not for human consumption.

Not veterinary advice

Chewsy Chews products are treats. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Information on this website, at our events, and on our social media is for general education only and is not a substitute for advice from your veterinarian.

Your responsibility

By purchasing and using Chewsy Chews products, you agree to follow these guidelines, to supervise your dog during use, and to decide which products are suitable for your dog. Chewsy Chews is not responsible for injury, illness, or damage resulting from misuse, lack of supervision, or giving a product that is not suitable for your dog.
